• The role of Department of Antiquities in the preservation of the Cultural Heritage, in relation to rural development (Mrs. Evi Fiouri, Archaeological Officer - Department of Antiquities)

• The Experience of the Cyprus Tourism Organization in the promotion of heritage restoration in the countryside for tourism (Mrs. Evi Panagiotou, Officer from the CTO)

• Visit to “Oinomouseio” at Erimi – a recently restored building that is used as a Wine museum.

• Visit to Kolossi Castle

• Visit to Lofou Village: landscape restoration (meeting with the Chairman of the Communal Council and owners of local tavernas

Wednesday 23 February

• Visit to Lefkara: A successful restoration effort? / Is tourism the only purpose? The Local Plan  and local reactions (discussion with Planning Officers, the local shop’s owners and authorities)

• Visit to the restored village of Fikardou, which is declared as Ancient Monument: an example to repeat or to avoid? (Department of Antiquities)

Thursday 24 February

• Visit to the restored church of St. Nicolas at Klonari.

• Visit to the abandoned village of Vikla: A blank page to draw on the outcomes of the workshop.

• Discussion: finalisation of workshop’ outcomes
